DELEGATES  An intense classroom based training course aimed at persons who Supervise or Manage Lifting Operations involving Mobile Cranes.

Delegates should be articulate and have a basic understanding of Crane and Slinging techniques.
 



 

CONTENTS  The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSW ACT)
The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Reg 1998
(PUWER)
The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regs 1998
(LOLER)
Selection & Inspection of Lifting Equipment including:-
Chain Slings - Wire Rope - Flat Web & Round Fibre Slings - Shackles
Eyebolts - Lifting Beams - Camlok Clamps - Level 2 Slinging Techniques
Hitches & Methods - Duties of the the Banksman/Slinging - Signals
BS7121 - Safe Use of Mobile Cranes - Specifications & Selections
Duties of the Appointed Person - Planning the Lifting Operation
Management of the Lift Operation - Risk Assessments - Hazard Spotting
Power Lines - Method Statement.
 



 

AIMS & OBJECTIVES  

On completion of the course, each Delegate will have a good understanding of their duties, with a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation and will be fully conversant in producing vaild Risk Assessments & Method Statements and ensuring the Safe & Proper Use of Mobile Cranes and othe relevant Lifting Equipment.  



 

DURATION  Three Days  



 

DAILY TIMETABLE  9.00am - 4.00pm  Lunch 30 mins  Breaks 2 x 15 mins  



 

CERTIFICATION  On satisfactory completion, each delegate will have good understanding of their duties, with a good knowledge of the relevant Legislation and will be fully conversant in producing vaild Risk Assessments & Method Statements and ensuring the Safe & Proper Use of Mobile Cranes and other relevant Lifting Equipment.  



 

NUMBERS  Maximum 6 Delegates per course

(The law has changed - all practical operative training is now Six persons per course/day/test)


 

VENUES  Any suitable venue with decent classroom facilities.

NB: We can arrange Hotels & Venues if required.
